Todd has had a very active playing career over the past 35 years. As a trumpet player he has performed with various musical artists including Clark Terry, Bill Watrous, Pete Chrisleib, The 5th Dimension, Dorsey Brothers Band, Guy Lombardo, Glenn Miller Band, and the Jim Widner Big Band. Currently he is a member of Platinum Express and JJ Johnson & The Old School Players.

During college at Missouri State University he played lead trumpet in the Jazz ensemble participating in the North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland, Mexico City Jazz Festival and the world-renowned Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Todd was the band director at Truman high school for 26 years. While at Truman his bands consistently received superior ratings in all aspects of the program and travelled across the United States representing Truman High School.

Now he spends his spare time with his wife traveling to watch their kids play competitive softball and baseball. Todd resides in Independence Missouri with his wife Kristen and their kids, Connor (16) and Ella (13).
