Gary began his professional music career at the age of 16 as a singer/dancer/percussionist performing with with R&B legends, like Lou Rawls, Sam & Dave, Little Richard, Sammy Davis Jr. and Grover Washington Jr. For over 30 years, Gary continued to work professionally, sometimes as a vocalist, but more often as a percussionist, backing some of the greatest names in Jazz and entertainment, working with the likes of Jazz saxophonist Hank Crawford for 8 years, Eddie Cano (One of the fathers of Latin Jazz) for 4 years, and the BET-award-winning Latin Jazz quartet Yoboso for 5 years. While Gary was with Yoboso, their CD "Off The Menu" Won 6 awards at the New Mexico Music Awards including Best Vocal Performance. Some other greats Gary has performed with include Sonny Stitt, Percy Mayfield, Ester Phillips, Herbie Mann, Les McCann, David "Fat Head" Newman, and many others.

Gary touches his listeners with his intimate treatment of ballads, his soulful blues, his humor and wit, and his driving Latin Jazz. Gary has won the ears and hearts of listeners in L.A., Kansas City, Santa Fe, Alaska, Australia and now on the web, with his recordings and videos.
